Management Committee (MC) Activities

10/06 MC Meeting – Reviewed sponsoring association responses on the revision of the Standards, discussed the process for forming a Joint Committee (JC), had initial discussion of the scope and timetable for the revision, discussed budget and staffing
01/07 MC Meeting – Discussed criteria for JC members and chairs, had conference call with Eva Baker, Paul Sackett and Dan Eignor regarding the revision, discussed soliciting input on the revision, discussed membership roles and responsibilities, discussed the need for a separate account for the development fund
Summer 07

Appointment of JC Co-Chairs

Fall 07 Issued a call for suggested revisions for the Standards from the three sponsoring organizations and all interested parties
02/08

MC Meeting- Reviewed management agreement and chart of responsibilities, reviewed development fund and sales, discussed budget for the JC, reviewed comments on the 1999 Standards, and identified main areas that need to be addressed in the revision (JC Co-Chairs participated in this discussion)

Spring 08 Develop the Charge and Scope document for the revision of the Standards (in conjunction with JC Co-Chairs) and develop annual budgets and procedural guidelines for the JC
05/15/08 Send the Charge and Scope for the revision document to sponsoring organizations and request each sponsoring organization to identify a liaison
06/15/08 Receive feedback from the sponsoring organizations regarding the Charge and Scope and secure agreement from each organization
07/10-11/08 Meet with Co-chairs to select JC members and discuss the process of the JC, timeline of the JC, and responsibilities of the JC.  Draft a materials packet to be shared with prospective JC members
09/30/08 Complete Joint Committee appointments
08/08 - 12/11 Identify procedures for external review of the revised Standards, update and modify the budget and timeline for the JC annually, produce progress reports for the sponsoring organizations, and plan for the printing, advertising, and dissemination of the revised Standards

(1.) Note – the number of meetings and dates of meetings will ultimately be determined by the Joint Committee. The timeline provides a potential model and estimate for planning and budgeting purposes. For example, in some years, only 3 meetings with the entire JC may be necessary and a fourth meeting may be devoted to subcommittee meetings, or a virtual meeting.

*Between JC meetings members are revising and writing as well as reviewing other JC member’s revisions.  Conference calls will also take place between JC meetings.
